MA-1496
- Mica var. Muscovite
Mogok, Burma
An unusually transparent (when viewed from the side), hexagonal
crystal of light green muscovite, 2.1 cm across, frozen in matrix.
A tiny red spinel crystal can be seen included within the muscovite
crystal. Although it's sometimes difficult to tell with these,
the crystal is fully terminated because the matrix envelops the
bottom portion of each end of the crystal, just slightly. A fabulous
and attractive gem mica specimen from a new find in 2003! Size:
6.0 x 3.5 x 6.2 cm.

quartz matrix. The second generation consists of fairly lustrous,
hexagonal, prismatic and needle-like crystals to 4 mm in length,
perched on the first generation of pyromorphite. Phoenixville
is a well-documented locality that yielded some of the world's
best pyromorphite specimens during the 1900s! Size: 4.5 x 2.4
