MB-2070 - Chalcopyrite with Sphalerite and Quartz
Huaron Mines, Cerro de Pasco Province, Pasco Department, Peru
This mining district has been known to produce super chalcopyrite specimens. The one shown here has a superb, very large, well formed undamaged chalcopyrite crystal measuring 2.8 cm in its longest dimension, and perched aesthetically on a matrix of crystallized quartz.  There are several lustrous black crystals of sphalerite to 1.2 cm in size on the quartz as well. CA-2069 - Chalcopyrite on Quartz
Huaron Mines, Cerro de Pasco Province, Pasco Department, Peru
Wonderful, sharp, bright, well formed crystals of chalcopyrite to 1 cm scattered over a matrix of transparent, colorless quartz crystals measuring to 1 cm in length. Minor pyrite in association. Ex. Tom Hughes collection. Size: 7.5 x 6.4 x 3.3 cm.

  

CC-2074 - Chalcopyrite and Dolomite on Quartz
Suior Mine, Cavnic, Maramures, Romania
Striking plate of bright, lustrous, brassy chalcopyrite crystals to 2 cm across. The crystals are nicely perched on spiky, translucent to transparent, colorless quartz crystals with masses of pearly, cream-colored crystalline dolomite. A beautiful specimen that displays nicely! Size: 9.3 x 9.3 x 3.2 cm.
